Karon beach is one of the longest, straightest and widest beaches in Phuket, so it never looks crowded. The beach is famous for singing sand that produces sound when walking on it. The main things for tourists are excellent snorkeling spots, parasailing, jet-skiing, banana boats, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, volleyball and surfing in the green season. The beach stretches along the road which is full of restaurants, shops, markets, and massage salons. The small sand dunes separate the beach from the road and save it from the noise.
Kata beach is located on the west coast of Phuket. Kata beach boasts of super fine sand and turquoise water in the dry season which is nice for swimming. In the wet season, this beach is good for surfers. The best place for snorkellers is the northern end of the beach where the rocks host corals and ample sea life.
